RE: Welcome
I, too would like to welcome Jane Singer to our Forum!
I'll repeat what Laurie has already said - Jane has special interest in espionage and is a wonderful scholar and researcher - a good friend from way back! Great seeing you here, Jane! Welcome aboard!! "The Past is a foreign country...they do things differently there" - L. P. Hartley |

RE: Welcome
I want to throw out a welcome to our newest member, Carolyn Mitchell. Carolyn runs the Spirits of Tudor Hall Facebook page and has an extensive website of her own devoted to Edwin and the rest of the Booths.
Welcome, Carolyn! |

RE: Welcome
Wonderful! Welcome Carolyn -- so glad you've joined us!
Please tell us a bit about your site - I'm unfamiliar with it but will definitely run by! Thanks, Dave - "The Past is a foreign country...they do things differently there" - L. P. Hartley |

RE: Welcome
It's great to have Carolyn joining us from the Tudor Hall group. I've followed her comments on Dave's blog, and I am so happy that there are others dedicated to preserving that wonderful home. I have warm memories of working with Dinah Faber and Elwin Penski over the years, and it's nice to see their love of the ancestral home of the Booth theatre dynasty being carried on.

Thanks everyone esp to Dave and Roger. I've only been studying the Booth Family esp. Edwin off and on for the last five years. I worked with Dinah Faber - she was the one who first started the Spirits of Tudor Hall Facebook in 2008. She was writer, photographer and historian who was known as "the Booth Lady" for her preservation work on Tudor Hall. I started contributing to her Facebook page I think in 2009 and we became good friends. She asked me to become an admin on the page soon after. We communicated with each other mostly via email, she would always give me scoop of what new book on the Booths, esp. on Edwin would come out. She even interviewed Nina Titone, author of My Thoughts Be Bloody: The Bitter Rivalry That Led to the Assassination of Abraham Lincoln, for one of her newsletters. Sadly she passed away in 2011 and do miss her. I would love to have more time studying the Booths and hope to revive my Edwin Booth Society blog later this year- I will probably transfer all my content to Wordpress but still trying to figure the best layout for the new site. I would love to see it become more of a research tool for anyone to use. Thanks again for welcoming me. I'm very honored. |
