Mrs. Dixon was the wife of Sen. James Dixon of Ct., and early member of the Republican party. They lived on or near Lafayette Square. When the messenger came for Mrs. Dixon, her sister, I believe it was Mary Kinney went with her. Poor MTL needed all the support she could get.

Very well written, and concise. I have a PDF of the transcribed 12 page report written by Leale immediately after to Surgeon General Barnes. It was written on mourning paper with a black border.
