Double Ulke exposures - J. Beckert - 08-05-2014 09:04 PM I've always heard there was only one photo made of Lincoln's death bed. This thread clearly shows there were at least two photos taken. Scroll down. http://www.fold3.com/uploads_recent/Robert_Gray/61_80/ RE: Double Ulke exposures - LincolnToddFan - 08-05-2014 09:51 PM Hi Joe, That's some fascinating stuff. I have saved that site to my Favorites list...thanks! RE: Double Ulke exposures - RJNorton - 08-06-2014 04:22 AM Thanks, Joe. I remember buying Twenty Days in the 1960's and seeing the Ulke photo for the first time. I will never forget that memory. RE: Double Ulke exposures - Gene C - 08-06-2014 06:31 AM Thanks Joe, included in this collection is a period photo of the back of Lincoln's home in Springfield. I don't remember seeing that before. (page 9) We've talked about the wallpaper in the death room before, where Roger posted photo's of the death room. (an interesting thread) http://rogerjnorton.com/LincolnDiscussionSymposium/thread-758.html?highlight=Ulke (The chair next to the bed has been moved slightly between photographs) RE: Double Ulke exposures - Rsmyth - 08-06-2014 08:04 AM Hi Joe, I am going from memory here. The second photo was discovered in the not so distant past in the belongings of a relative of Henry Ulke, in Europe (Ireland?). along with some other documentation that gave rise to the theory that Henry, not Julius took the photos. RE: Double Ulke exposures - J. Beckert - 08-06-2014 06:54 PM Thanks, Rich. That's fascinating it was only recently found. I've never heard that and am surprised it didn't make a bigger ripple in the news.
