RE: Surratt Courier - Lincoln Wonk - 05-02-2016 04:19 PM I loved Joan's story on the Pearl and Laurie's tale of the insurrection. RE: Surratt Courier - Thomas Kearney - 05-03-2016 02:12 PM I got my February Courier in the mail today where I saw a certain Lewis Payne lookalike's name in the new members list. Speaking of problems, this reminds me of a song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebkxzU2mATU RE: Surratt Courier - Eva Elisabeth - 05-28-2016 03:51 AM Please allow me to point at some IMO interesting additional information and photos here to the article about the French medal honoring MTL in the latest Sourratt Courier: http://rogerjnorton.com/LincolnDiscussionSymposium/thread-1458-post-29558.html?highlight=medal#pid29558 One of the leading committee members was Victor Hugo. RE: Surratt Courier - RJNorton - 05-28-2016 03:56 AM Wow, you received your Courier in Germany before I received mine in Florida! RE: Surratt Courier - BettyO - 05-28-2016 06:12 AM Haven't received mine in VA yet, either! RE: Surratt Courier - Wild Bill - 05-28-2016 09:07 AM Ah! The miracles of the German postal system RE: Surratt Courier - Jenny - 05-28-2016 09:44 AM I got mine in Texas a few days ago - no idea how that works while you folks closer to Maryland haven't recieved yours yet! RE: Surratt Courier - Rogerm - 05-28-2016 09:51 AM I received my Surratt Courier in the mail yesterday. "Vielen Dank" for pointing out the article, Eva. It looks as though the French Emperor Napoleon III wasn't very happy about the medal. So, it had to be struck in Switzerland. RE: Surratt Courier - Linda Anderson - 05-31-2016 04:06 PM I received my June Courier today. Thank you, Laurie, for including my Tassy Award news. The Awards Ceremony is tomorrow night. It will be interesting to see if I meet any other Booth buffs there. RE: Surratt Courier - Eva Elisabeth - 05-31-2016 05:43 PM Please let us know whom if you do! And enjoy the event! RE: Surratt Courier - Carolyn Mitchell - 06-01-2016 12:47 AM Just recently joined the Surratt Society. Can't wait to get my first copy! The June issue went in the U.S. Mail on June 23. We pay for first class mail every month (nearly $1000) - and every month the delivery service gets worse. We have about 6-8 newsletters returned to us every month, marked as undeliverable, not known, no such address, etc. When we track the folks down, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the address we used. We then have to resend it in a large envelope and pay postage once again. I think we're being scammed. RE: Surratt Courier - RJNorton - 06-03-2016 09:08 AM And kudos to Laurie for "Free at last, Lord, Free at last." Regarding the mail...copies of the Surratt Courier, the Journal of the Lincoln Assassination, and the Lincoln Herald all arrived at our home on the same day this week - definitely a first - never happened before. |
