Bio:	I teach history at U of South Carolina. I have wrtten a book on an international history of America's Civil War that deals with the public diplomacy efforts of both sides to win public favor abroad. My next book will focus on the international reaction to Lincoln's death and the hundreds of letters of condolence sent from all parts of the world in 1865. I've spent a lot of time with Mr. Lincoln these last few years and am looking forward to meeting others who are fascinated by the man, his times, and his meaning for the world then and now.
