Oklahoma
My heart is sad for all those affected by the horrible tornadoes in Oklahoma, and my prayers are with them. We lived in beautiful OKC for 4 years while my husband attended dental school; one daughter was born there. We spent another year in eastern Oklahoma for a residency and added another daughter there.

I also grew up in Indiana and lost close friends to the April 3, 1974 tornadoes. I still remember the terror of that 'green' feeling in the air and the warnings to go to a safe place, and the feelings of grief as we tended children while the parents searched for their missing daughter (who was killed on April 3, 1974). Those feeling never leave you.

May all those affected be blessed with peace and hope amidst the ruin and grief. May they look forward to another day in the future when they will be able to sing again those beautiful words about Oklahoma, "O what a beautiful morning, o what a beautiful day."

RE: Oklahoma
The news just keeps getting worse. My daughter's former roommate lives in OKC, but thankfully is in India right now. However, we have not heard about her family.

There is also a part of me that remembers that one of my all-time favorite people, James O. Hall, is buried in a tiny cemetery in an Oklahoma town. I dare a tornado to disturb his and his wife's eternal rest!

I'm also thinking of friends on this forum who live in the danger zone: Art Loux, Blaine Houmes, Matt Macoubrie, those in the northern reaches of the Midwest, and others that I might not know. May God keep you safe.

P.S. Christine - My mother used to wake me up in the morning with "Oh, what a beautiful day..."
