RE: Robert Lincoln Death Threat
I believe that this Blanche DeBar stuff is all explained in a series of articles that we carried in the Surratt Courier about ten years ago. I can't remember who wrote the articles, but it pertained to Blanche's correspondence with Fred Black, who had been retained by Henry Ford to check out the Enid mummy story in case Ford wanted to include it in his Americana collection.
I'm working from home today because all park facilities are closed because of the snow that is dumping on us. If anyone here has back issues of the Courier, check out this series of 2-3 articles. I'll try to remember to check for them when the snow melts. For some reason, I think Blaine Houmes of this forum may have written the articles in the Courier??? |

RE: Robert Lincoln Death Threat
If we can varify Booth's mother was in San Francisco in 1866, that should clinch it.
Interesting that Blanche couldn't remember if it was the late 1880's or early 1890's when she saw JWB. Also interesting, this is from a San Francisco newspaper, but the interview took place in Minneapolis? So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: Robert Lincoln Death Threat
Yes, Edwin had one daughter by his first wife; and Asia had several (I think). I can't remember whether or not Junius, Jr. had any other daughter than Blanche.

RE: Robert Lincoln Death Threat
In all likelihood it was Blanche deBar Booth, daughter of Junius Jr. But it could have been her half-sister, Marion "Mary" Mace Booth, though she would have only been about 16 years old at the time. Chuck Huppert

RE: Robert Lincoln Death Threat
I found this picture of Blanche
http://ebooth-myhamlet.livejournal.com/p...g/312/6124 Based on the caption to the photo, strange she would be in Escanaba, MI in 1867 (must have been in between plays) So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |
