I found the article fascinating. We should have a serious version of "History's Mysteries" and let Betty O loose in every historical archive.

Tom

Betty, I'd like to know what happened to the Roanoke Island Colony.

Hmmmm - the Lost Colony at Roanoke, eh?

Well.....at last report, I think that they took a trip up to Maryland and somehow were lost in the Zekiah Swamps. Research has determined that all that was found was the word "Croton" carved on a tree.... more or less a reference to a high end watch. Some of these watches do have compasses in the watch face.... However, I don't know how reliable the compass is. Later, Booth and Herold would also use a fancy compass which may have also been a Croton product....

Isn't there evidence that Virginia Dare and Anna Surratt were the same person? This might explain why Anna's hair turned white at an early age.

Here's an old photo which was recently discovered showing Anna running with an Indian Warrior by the name of Saved from Hemp Neck
(NO disrespect to our Native American friends intended.....)

So - you could be right, Tom! Anna could have actually been VA Dare.....

It has been my impression that Anna Surratt ran away from, not with, that cowardly Injun seen here!

Also, Betty might be able to solve my suspicions that Adolph Hitler, JFK, and Elvis are living on a South Pacific island with Amelia Earhart as their housekeeper.
