Hello, my name is Joanna Hahn and I am the Art and Culture Program Manager at the Indiana State Museum. I am trying to get the word out about the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of Lincoln artifacts. This collection is available for research online at http://www.lincolncollection.org. Currently, there are over 21,000 artifacts available to search on the website. This database includes three-dimensional artifacts as well as books, pamphlets, photographs, clothing, political objects, fine art, and manuscripts and documents.

Other features of the website in addition to the searchable database include virtual exhibits, announcements of upcoming Lincoln-related events, the Lincoln Timeline, an Ask an Expert page, etc. Highlights include:

• The last painting of Lincoln from life, painted in 1865 by artist Matthew Wilson.

• An original signed copy of the Emancipation Proclamation, Leland-Boker editor.

• One of three known Senate copies of the 13th Amendment signed by President Abraham Lincoln and members of the Senate who voted in favor of the resolution to abolish the institution of slavery.

• Three-dimensional objects in the collection include personal items belonging to Lincoln during his time at both Springfield and Washington, D.C. as well as objects belonging to members of his family.

• A Zouave uniform jacket belonging to Corporal John E. Wilkins of Lew Wallace’s 11th Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment

There were some neat items in the three dimensional objects section. I wonder if the cane was the one found in the box at Ford's. I remember it had "A. Lincoln" engraved on the head.

In going through this, I found another rare "penny dreadful" novel about John Surratt. I'd never heard of this one before:

"The career and adventures of John H. Surratt, since his flight from America, after the execution of his mother, Mrs. Mary Surratt, Payne, Harold and Atzerott for the assassination of President Lincoln ... His final arrest in Egypt by United State Counsul Hale" (1866) by Charles Wesley Alexander
