The most common New Year's Eve wish and greeting in Germany is to have "a good slide" into the new year. Originally it derived from the Yiddish phrase “a git Rosch” (ראש השנה טוב), which means “a good beginning.” This is what I wish to all forum members and their families. Not only for me, but also for the world, first of all Ukraine, 2022 wasn't a good year, so all my best hopes and good wishes for 2023.

I don't think that it's quite that easy. Even the Pele's and Lionel Messi's are few and far between.

It's cold, foggy and raining so we will enjoy homemade soup and bread with hot chocolate and apple pie for dessert.
Then we'll watch a movie and fall asleep before midnight! The Rose Parade and Rose Bowl game will be held on Monday Jan.2.
