10 Year Anniversary
Congratulations to Roger, and a big THANK YOU for creating this wonderful web site 10 years ago.

Through this forum I've made some internet friends from all over the country and the world, even met a few really nice people with our Springfield Tour, all thanks to Roger.
Had a lot of fun too.

Learned a lot of interesting new/old things
We appreciate all your hard work.

So join in everyone, don't be shy, even if it's only to say a simple - thank you

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

RE: 10 Year Anniversary
Thank you, Gene. It's been an enjoyable endeavor, and I second you on meeting people from all over the world. I shall keep the forum going, although things are much slower now than years ago. Technically, the anniversary is next month; I downloaded the software for the forum in early June 2012, but it took me about a month before deciding to go ahead with the project. I must credit the late Laurie Verge for getting the word out about a new Lincoln forum; she was absolutely terrific in her efforts to get people to register.

My heartfelt thanks to all who have contributed!!

I'd like to add my thanks. Roger, you've created a forum that's given pleasure to many many people.
Well done. But really, words arent adequate to express what you've done.

RE: 10 Year Anniversary
Congratulations on next month's anniversary, Roger!

The past 5 years that I've been on the Forum have opened my eyes to a lot of new Lincoln information. As well as interacting with a lot of great researchers and commenters here. You never stop learning here!

RE: 10 Year Anniversary
Congrats Roger on the upcoming 10 year anniversary!

As I have shared with you in the past, I have learned more about Lincoln here than from any other single source. This is a testament to all of the wonderful people here who have been willing to share and discuss topics related to Abraham Lincoln over the years. And especially a testament to you Roger for providing the platform for all of us to share, explore, learn and communicate!!

RE: 10 Year Anniversary
I still proudly use the same password that Roger created for me when he started this forum in 2012. It was born out of necessity and Roger didn't disappoint when he finally pulled the pin and got this going. Laurie (Bless her soul) was a big part of ramping up support and helping Roger get this off the ground. It's been a resounding success ever since. Lots has been learned, lots of friends have been made and it's a model that others should envy. No other site on the web has more information and personal knowledge of the people and events that we love to study. I'm proud to call Roger my friend and I proudly coined him the politest man on the internet.
And indeed, he is. Thank you, Roger. You're the definition of a gentleman and a scholar.

RE: 10 Year Anniversary
I did not realize until recently just how important Laurie was to the well-being of the Lincoln website. She was the socializer; and, she is greatly missed.

I second everyone here - I have no better words to summarize all you did and do by creating and maintaining this site, Roger, and all the site means - learning about Lincoln, getting connected, meeting new friends! Thank you, Roger! I especially also second David - Laurie is deeply missed!

I would recommend to one and all to reread all of the posts that have been made on this thread beginning with Gene's slightly restrained "THANK YOU" to Roger.

RE: 10 Year Anniversary
I think it's appropriate to also remember other forum members that have passed away - like Blaine Houmes and Herb Swingle.

RE: 10 Year Anniversary
I also congratulate you Roger for the wonderful 10 years. I came from the former web site, as you know. I have met so many great people and learned so much. May you have many more years as the host and we continue to learn about our greatest of the U. S. Presidents- Abraham Lincoln. Salute!
