Our newest member, Patrick Mulhanney, has sent these photos to the forum. When he has the time Patrick will do a follow-up post explaining what they are and what he is seeking. Thank you, Patrick!

RE: 1840-1860 Photos
Hi All,
Came across a group of photos related to William Chandler whom married Lucy Lambert Hale later in life. The first 2 images are know images of Lucy, the rest are dags and ambrotypes I just purchased along with childhood photos of Chandler. Does anyone think the photos could
Be of Lucy? To me 2 are almost a certain match. Looking forward to what others may think. I also posted 3 photos of a very young William and a dag of his first father in law Governor Joseph Gilmore of NH. These were from a small family archive I just purchased and trying to research and share photos for others to view.

Interesting collection.
The 3rd photo looks to me like it could be the same girl as #2, only as she has gotten a little older.
I wouldn't rule anything out, but I don't know enough to give you an informed opinion.
What a nice find.

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

I think it's possible that the first photo (the one in the oval frame) could be of Lucy, but I'm doubtful as to the others. You might run them past the New Hampshire Historical Society, which holds the Hale papers. Have you opened the cases?

RE: 1840-1860 Photos
Might be worth trying this : photograph the images one at a time (try the adults first).... the last one of a man for example ...
then load the image on a PC and do a Google search on the image.

Is king o' men for a' that” Robert Burns

Good idea, Michael. I just tried this method with all of the images, and I am afraid I drew a blank on each one.
