In this workshop with Jared Peatman, we will examine particular incidents from Abraham Lincoln’s life to reflect on strategies he used to respond to adversity and handle stress—all while leading the country through a national crisis. Peatman will introduce two modern crisis management models for improving our optimism and leading in the face of adversity. Together, the group will reflect on how real-world examples from Abraham Lincoln connect with these theories to offer a way forward for those leading organizations, families, and self during our current world crisis.

How did Lincoln, who felt the full weight of each life lost during the Civil War, keep going? How can Lincoln’s crisis leadership provide a roadmap as we navigate our current national crisis?
