Douglas Waller talk on Lincoln's Spies
While looking for a review of this book for another thread (to replace a since paywalled review), I came across this event posted on the National Archives Calendar of Events, a Talk with Douglas Waller on Thursday, August 8, 2019 - 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Washington DC:

RE: Douglas Waller talk on Lincoln's Spies
Veteran journalist.... with the state of journalism in today's media, I'm not so sure that is a favorable description.
Wikipedia indicates Mr Waller is a former correspondent for Time and Newsweek, two publications I usually do not care for. So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

Rob's post in the other thread reviewing the book (post no#3), doesn't make any more of a favorable description: https://rogerjnorton.com/LincolnDiscussi...l#pid78127 If I lived in the Washington DC area, I still might go to the talk and ask Waller a question about Congress and the rewards claims issue Rob brought up. |
