North & South magazine

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ "The newest issue of: North & South; The Official Magazine of The Civil War Society (Series 11, Number 1) is on The Racks now. The (cover story: "Trading With the Enemy" by Ed Steers) issue contains 12 illustrated pages of the article: "Conspiracy in Montreal 1864-1865" and nine illustrated pages of the article: "One Week in April" [1865]." |

It is back and doing quite well with the literary support of some tried and true scholars as well as some new ones. I have spoken with Keith Poulter, the driving force behind the publication, and he has assured me that their economic difficulties are behind them and that they now operate as a not-for-profit company. It was one of my favorites in the old days, so I hope it doesn't disappoint now. |
