Season's Greetings
May everyone have a blessed Easter and Passover season.
This day of triumph has truly proved that good weather can triumph over bad -- at least in Southern Maryland. Our area has not suffered the hardest of hits like many in the U.S., but it has been a wicked several months. Today dawned with glorious sunshine, blue skies with a few fluffy, white clouds, and the temperatures have risen to the upper-60s. Daffodils, tulips and redbuds are still in the last stages of bloom, dogwoods are at their peak, the late-blooming cherry trees are magnificent (can't spell Kwansan...), and lilacs are in full-bloom. I don't know who first said this, but my grandmother used to say of such days, "God is in his heaven, all is right with the world." And, let's hope that Mother Nature is taking a breather from her temper tantrums. |

RE: Season's Greetings
Here's an interesting article on the history of the White House Egg Roll:

I believe they have egg roll at the Surratt Boarding House
So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: Season's Greetings
I belive nature's temper tantrums are greatly human-made. If man destroys nature, nature will destroy man.
Or as one of our (IMO) greatest presidents, Richard von Weizsäcker, said, "Man needs nature, but nature doesn't need man. Man is a part of nature, not superior to it. He will only long-term survive if he understands that." We did a lovely 40 miles bike tour through (still) gorgeous nature to the seaside. Happy Easter Monday everyone. |
