Abraham Lincoln An Illustrated History of His Life and Times
A TIME publication, full title Abraham Lincoln - An illustrated history of his life and times
A Bicentennial Celebration

Published in 2009 by Time Books, softbound with 120 pages.

Nice book, interesting photographs and illustrations on every page. Several in color. This is what caught my attention when I first looked through it.
This makes a nice gift for someone not to familiar with Lincoln. Not so big that it might scare someone who doesn't read much.
Does not skip over or lightly treat his early years before Springfield. A nice balanced (time wise) biography.

For most of you, there is not much here that will be new to you.
Some sections are either written or heavily influenced by Doris Goodwin, Douglas Wilson, David Herbert Donald, and a few other authors you may be familiar with, make this a short and respectable biography.
I especially enjoyed a 2 page section, "They Say He Was a Lousy Speaker", by Douglas Wilson.

I purchased my copy at the local library book sale for $1.
New and used copies are easily found and available.

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

I have this book also. I liked the illustrations and yes there is not much that is new and doesn't delve too deep.
