Celebrate "Lincoln Day" at the Library of Congress

"On Monday, November 19, as part of a “Lincoln Day” at the Library of Congress, the Nicolay Copy of the Gettysburg Address will be on public display from 10:30am-4:30pm in the Great Hall of the Thomas Jefferson Building.

If you attend, you will also have an opportunity to help the Library by transcribing some of the letters received by Lincoln during his life. The "Letters to Lincoln" is a banner campaign for

and the subject of our first "challenge." LOC is inviting members of the public--specialists and non-specialists alike--to transcribe around 28,000 pages of Lincolniana by the end of 2018. The goal is to integrate these transcriptions into the Abraham Lincoln Papers Online, and to do it in time to celebrate Lincoln's 210th birthday on February 12, 2019.
