Fifth Anniversary Today...
Of the passing of Laurie Verge. Oh what a force and font of knowledge she was on this website. I can only imagine her conversations with Mary Surratt and John Surratt Jr. (if they are in the same place as she). I still miss her as I'm sure many of you do as wwell.

RE: Fifth Anniversary Today...
I third what Dennis said. Laurie was sharp as a tack, her knowledge of the assassination and Southern Maryland were amazing and she was a boatload of fun. She's greatly missed by all of us who loved her.

RE: Fifth Anniversary Today...
I second your third.
I have learned a lot from the comments she posted. So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

She was always thoughtful and encouraging to other posters. If she disagreed she responded in a way that was polite and respectful. Wonderful person. Must have been a great teacher.

RE: Fifth Anniversary Today...
Thanks Dennis and all who posted. I still enjoy reading and learning from Laurie's posts here and the articles in the Surratt Courier. They remain an active treasurer trove and reminder of how fortunate we are that Laurie's legacy remains accessible.

RE: Fifth Anniversary Today...
Thank you, Dennis. I spent many hours in Laurie's office at the Surratt House Museum discussing various topics and aspects, and her usual response was "you should research it." I miss her, but will forever be grateful that I knew her.
P.S. Thanks to Roger Norton, we all have access to Laurie's wisdom and wit from over the years. Thank you, Roger. |

I miss Laurie as well.
