Marilyn Monroe helps save the President
Forgive my overstated thread title. I’m referring to, of course, the plan for the Springfield Lincoln Museum to auction Monroe’s dress in it’s collection to try and help the museum’s debt. I hope there is no chance of the museum closing. I attended the Lincoln Museum in Fort Wayne the final year it was open. What a shame it closed!

Good to see you back Bill, you have been missed.

That reminds me of a song. Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress by the Hollies

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

Love that song! Yes, the dress is black. Thank you Roger and Gene. I understand one of Lincoln’s hats is on the auction block? What a shame that would be if it is auctioned off and no longer available for public viewing.

The MM connection is fitting. She admired Lincoln greatly—and of course, his biographer Carl Sandburg.
