Lincoln's company in the Black Hawk War elected him captain. I do not know the exact date, but it was around April 1832. I am not sure if this is the answer you are looking for.

owh! I thought I was being smart. Yep. April 21st 1832 according to David Donald (and others I think). He beat William Kirkpatrick.
