"Not Even Lincoln Is Spared the Wrath of the Statue Topplers"
About goings on at the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. The headline is a bit overblown, though.
Not Even Lincoln Is Spared the Wrath of the Statue Topplers: Who would have guessed the author of the Gettysburg Address was a white supremacist? I have endured a great deal of ridicule without much malice; and have received a great deal of kindness, not quite free from ridicule. I am used to it. (Letter to James H. Hackett, November 2, 1863) |

RE: "Not Even Lincoln Is Spared the Wrath of the Statue Topplers"
I'm starting to believe the best way to teach people who commit acts of vandalism respect for this country, is to deport them to a foreign country for at least a year (at their expense).
IF they want to come back they should have to appear before a committee of war veterans and explain why they should be allowed back. So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |
