Iranistan
I stumbled across this link and found it quite interesting and appropriate to the Lincoln era. I want a home just like this and a staff of fifty to maintain it.

P.T. Barnum, most famously known for founding the Barnum & Bailey Circus...

Sorry, can't get the picture to show, so please go to the link. I also found out that there is a Barnum Museum in Bridgeport, CT also. It is housed in another very impressive, historic building.

RE: Iranistan
The banquet speaker at the Surratt conference on April 7 is Brady Carlson, author of the very interesting book, Dead Presidents: An American Adventure into the Strange Deaths and Surprising Afterlives of our Nation's Leaders (and yes, it may be in contention for the longest book title of the 21st century!). In his chapter on President Garfield, he labels the tomb as "America's only presidential death castle."

After discussing the amazing amount of Moorish and Grecian architecture and the vivid colors in a tomb to the dead, Brady does question why it was necessary to include a full mural of the President's assassination on one of the walls - complete with assassin Guiteau advancing on his victim.
