If I had lots of money, I'd totally buy it just to scare my husband (evil, I know...). And it might make a good conversation piece in my house Wink

This whole thread has me laughing. I've always thought wax figures were kind of creepy to begin with but these Booth ones just upped the creep factor. Wow.

Welcome aboard, Miss Bellatrix!

I, as well as most of our forum members feel that history doesn't have to be boring and dull - one can have FUN with history as well! I'm very serious about my research and study - but I also love the "quirky" side of history too, as all of my colleagues will attest!

Here is a "close up" of the rather scary scene which used to be at the Gettysburg Wax Museum - note the badly "aging" Booth figure! Most of the figures appear to be balding, etc.....as for Clara Harris - she appears to be wearing some sort of apron....

In the 1960s, Woodward and Lothrup in DC had a window display set up for the Civil War Centennial in which the assassination was recreated.....

Gotta love Levitating Lincoln!

I want a T-Shirt made out of this graphic....

And now for the ULTIMATE in Creepy -- want to own the original Disney Hall of Presidents Abe Lincoln Rubber Mask? It's pretty scary....as well as the price of about 4 grand!

You can watch the mishap regarding Mr. Lincoln's Speech here:

It's pretty funny.....

I love the levitating Lincoln! I guess Mary Todd's spiritualism was real after all- and Mr. Lincoln didn't believe in it!

And not watching the play! What is she looking at?

Welcome Miss Bellatrix!
Are there any well- done wax figures of any of the characters somewhere? (It's long ago - 1985 - that I've visited a Madame Tusseaud's, but my memory wants to make me believe it's possible to make more resembling wax likenesses! No Lincoln/Booth at all however.)

Thanks for the welcome, Betty and Eva Smile

I also believe you can have fun with history too. My favourite history courses in university were the ones where the professors would make learning fun & make jokes or find quirky stuff to tell us. I found I learned so much more that way!

I was laughing over all the wax figures. They're so creepy but in a funny way! I'm also wondering the same thing as Eva - are there any decent wax figures? Any I've seen have always been creepy.

As someone who practices yoga, I appreciated levitating Lincoln! I also need that "Lincoln Shot First" shirt. As a Star Wars fan, that is amazing!

My husband bought me this shirt for my birthday

I'm completely on board with those who think wax figures are creepy. Most of these are creepy AND funny/bad. I'm not sure I could ever bring myself to go a wax museum, even if the figures were good. Just not my thing…at ALL lol.
