Interesting programs on C-Span
Someone else may already have posted this, but in case not, I will. This weekend, C-Span's American History TV is broadcasting a lecture given by James Swanson at the Lincoln Forum last November. It compares the assassinations of Lincoln and Kennedy. It's a good talk, although I was disappointed to learn Mr. Swanson fully agrees with Michael Burlingame's derogatory opinion of Mary Lincoln. Here's a link to the C-Span site if anyone would like to watch it.
There's another lecture on C-Span that I also found interesting and entertaining. It's a comparison of the lives and personalities of Grant and Lee, presented by historian William Davis. Mr. Davis is introduced by Frank Williams, who gave two great talks at last year's Surratt Conference. Here the link. |
