Good, Betty! It was Champion, and for a while, like Silver, he had his own comic book.

RE: Conspirator Christmas
Great memories of Gene and his sidekick Pat Butram ( TV version; Smiley Burdette was the sidekick in the movies.) I have a CD of Gene Autry's Christmas songs, 27 total. Rudolph, Here comes Santa, What if it doesn't snow on Christmas etc.
While the Lone Ranger and Roy Rogers have been syndicated for TV, Autry's widow has never sold the rights for the TV series. I guess owning the LA Angels gives her enough income.

Sorry to divert from A. Lincoln but you reminded of some great memories of my youth.

I hope that "Smiley Burdette" was just a typo, but I watched too many old cowboy movies as a boy to let it slide. Smiley Burnette, born Lester Alvin Burnett, was the hapless sidekick to Roy Rogers, Gene Autrey and some other movie cowboys. Smiley had a horse with a fake circle around one eye, and he called him Ring Eye. And right now I'm astonished that I can remember that, but couldn't tell you what I ate yesterday.
