Rare photo of Ford's Theater Box after assassination
I was looking at Twitter when I came across a tweet from the Boothie Barn Twitter page showing a rare photo of the Ford's Theater box taken after the assassination. It was at the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, VA in their Lincoln photography exhibit, which closes Sunday. From what I have observed it was taken the day after the assassination by Matthew Brady, who was the only photographer permitted to photograph the crime scene. The flag that John Wilkes Booth caught his spur on is still mangled (This was taken before the mangled flag was replaced with another flag), and all the chairs are on the left side of the box in the picture. They were probably moved to that side so Drs. Leale and Taft could lay Lincoln on the floor to quickly examine him. I have included the link to my retweet and will continue to investigate this picture. Thanks to Dave Taylor for posting. Let me know your thoughts on this new pic.

The flag on the left of the box is also mangled. It is said that Dr. Taft climbed into the box from his seating section below.

Hi Thomas. We once had a lengthy discussion of the location of Booth's exit from the State Box and Dr. Taft's entry point to same here.
