RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
Lincoln was on a flatboat, an Army ambulance, ships in the Navy Yard at some point. Any of those?
Yay, Roger! What part of that boat/ship are we looking at in that snippet of a photo? (To be honest, your photo reminded me of an Oreo cookie!)

Never mind, I just enlarged Roger's photo and saw the top of the side-wheeler.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
Since Gene, too, posted his take on #23b before my solution appeared, I'll give that point, but as for #23c, Roger needed one hint less, and the agreement didn't sound entirely "convinced" to me - I hope this is ok with you, Gene. If not (and you were sure and I misperceived), please let me know.

Had a routine check-up today with my doctor. All was fine except my blood pressure is still too high. I'm glad he can't see the reading right now after this round of trivia.

Can't sleep - nagging conscience... I'll give Gene the #23c point, too, since I have done so before independently of my "perception", and comply with Joe's wish - for both goes "unless complaints follow":

You are so wise.
I will probably have to loose tonight so you don't get angry emails from Joe & Laurie. When I win, it will just have to be our little secret. ...not to speak of the bribing e-mails I got in advance...just kidding!!! I am really trying to be fair and to acknowledge efforts (fist-past-the-post often fails to do) when deserved to motivate - I hope it worked out to make everyone feel treated justly and acknowledged.
Thanks everyone for all the kind words, I am glad to hear you enjoyed this year's Advent calendar - I did, it was great fun, certainly my Advent highlight. And a challenge for me (,too,) to put together another 24 Lincoln-related questions that attract many and offer some variety - north and south, past and present, old and new, very trivial and (hopefully a bit) "educational". Thank you for your vivid participation - I so much enjoyed all your creative ideas and smart guesses. (And I hope the newly introduced score/contest didn't prevent anyone form joining sometime later!)
The final window, #24, shows a festively decorated Xmas tree - whose?
