Lucky Me, I wanted to go to the conference this year but it was just not to be. Then I come home tonight and my wife surprises me with reservations for the Surratt Society Special tour on May 1st. and then she found out that there were two openings for the Booth tour on the second. So we are going to do both events. I read and heard such good things about the tour I can hardly wait to go. Just wanted to share my good luck and thank my lovely wife for what I am sure will be a wonderful time for both of us.

We are taking folks to see the special exhibit at Ford's Theatre, the restored Clara Barton office, and the restored trial room at Ft. McNair. These are things that conference attendees have seen over the years (including the Barton office before restoration), but our general members had not had a chance to see. There are still a few seats left.

I am really looking forward to seeing everything but have to say the one thing I am most looking forward to is Ft. McNair. I am also looking forward to the honor of meeting you Laurie. You are the life blood of the Surratt house and a very knowledgeable historian of both Lincoln and the Civil War.
