RE: Lincoln at Ford's Theatre
Tom,I was in theater in college and musicals as a high school teacher! I coached football and wrestling! I had my wrestlers in Anything Goes and Guys and Dolls! Boy, did we have fun,it was also hard work! My biggest goal was to dispell any myths about theater.I also ran the Mock Trial competition and Teen Court for the county.I also took speech and voice and diction while in college!

If you enjoy musicals,drama,theater,arts,etc-you are gay and or strange to be around! Also,my aim was to fight the dumb-jock mentality! I had that stero-type to prove wrong as a life long ambition of mine!

Herb was merely saying he was trying to help teach/overcome that mistaken stereotype.
Which reminds me of a song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xghGeOvekbc So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

She is one of the five ladies that Booth had photographs of when he was shot and killed. In researching her life I've found that she had a long time connection with John T Ford with Ford hiring her as his leading stock actress over multiple seasons. In writing my piece about Gray it is necessary to get into some of Ford's history as well. Dave, If you haven't completed your piece on Alice Grey (note correct spelling) yet, I have a file on her I'd be happy to send you. I collected material on her but then couldn't use it b/c she was not performing at FT on the fatal night. I just PM'd you with my new email address. I can send it as an email attachment. Please also update my email for Boothie Barns. Thanks! (Also, as Roger noted w/ the page from my book on presidents and theatre, AL's appearance at Ford's for Kellogg was very brief, and thus likely escaped journalists' notice.) |

I'll be emailing you shortly, though I may have to fight you on Alice Gray's "correct" spelling. Though it was a stage name and not her actual name, I'm pretty convinced she preferred Gray over Grey. We'll talk. Dave |
