Lincooln Reenactors
Interesting news article about Max and Donna Daniels, a husband and wife team who portray Abraham and Mary Lincoln. What drew me to the article is the picture of Mary Lincoln with a big smile.

RE: Lincooln Reenactors
I had the pleasure of seeing/hearing Max and Donna Daniels as Mr. & Mrs. Lincoln in Springfield in 2007. I had attended the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Lincoln death day ceremonies at Lincoln's tomb. Later that evening, we saw them give a performance at the hotel. It was quite moving. They are very friendly- and seem to greatly enjoy their work.

Max and Donna are forum members (username: Lincoln fan) but have not posted. I will try to twist their arms. Would love to see them post.

RE: Lincooln Reenactors
I was thrilled that Donna mentioned Mary Lincoln's Coterie in the article. Donna Daniels, Valerie Gugala, and myself organzied the group over a decade ago. It is much more than a group of women who portray Mary Lincoln. The MLC membership includes performers, authors, historians, members of Civil War Roundtables, members of the DUCW, and anyone who wishes to pay tribute to the memory of Mary Lincoln and the women whom she knew. We meet every year in Springfield for the anniversary of Mary's death. (July 16th) Max and Donna will be there again this year. They are wonderful people - very caring, very generous with their time. Anyone who joins us for the memorial events will be delighted with the opportunity to get to know Max and Donna a little better.
