Bumpy Oak Road, MD
I read some comments re. Where is the Bumpy Oak Road.
Google "Bumpy Oak Road, MD". Click on "Maps" . See "Bumpy Oak Road". I do not know how long the road was in 1865, this is what is left.
Bumpy Oak runs due South to Marshall Corner Road, and crosses Rt. 225 -Hawthorne Rd. and become Rose Hill Road. Rose Hill was the name of the home of Olivia Floyd, and is located along here.
Further South is Port Tobacco Creek (Not labeled) Further Southwest. is the Nanjemoy Creek. Further South is the Potomac River. (I hope you are using your mouse to move down the Map)
Across the Potomac is Mathias Point. See "Woodstock Road".(Rt 687) Along the west side of Woodstock, from the River to Mathias Point Road, is my Farm. On this farm, adjacent to the river was Cawood's Camp. If you are in the neighborhood, come see me. I will give you my famous "Cawood's No-Escape Route Tour".
If you like this presentation, I can show you Sgt. Brogden's Camp. I can add McDaniel's home, Dr. Stuart's HomeS etc. I could have shown "Indiantown Farm" (not labeled), and lots more.
