I Love Summer...
I don't always love the heat and humidity of a Southern Maryland summer, but I do love summer tourists that visit Surratt House. We have been very busy today at the museum -- starting first with an early morning tour for the Civil War Trust and continuing steadily throughout the day with a good assortment of out-of-staters. The best tour was at mid-day when three people from Mozambique arrived. About ten minutes later, we had a couple from England. Such visitors give us a learning experience as well as a teachable moment.
