I was wondering where Eva read this, and I wrote her about it. She answered that the information is in "Father Abraham and his Sons" by Harold Holzer. Eva contacted Steve about locating Holzer's source, and Steve found it and sent it for posting. Thank you, Steve! (Robert is referred to by his "Prince of Rails" nickname in the article.)

Kudos to Harold Holzer on this. Before I wrote Eva, I checked at least 10 Lincoln books to try to find out about Robert on stage in New York. I even checked my books on the Lincoln inaugural train and also biographies of Robert. I drew a blank.
