A 25% buyers premium (per Dave@BoothieBarn twitter page) seems high to me, especially since some of the photos mentioned are spurious.
In comparison, most real estate auctions around here (western KY) get a 10% buyers premium (the auction price plus 10%) The last antique/estate auction I went to (several years ago) didn't charge a buyers premium. The auctioneer collected a commission from the seller on the total sales amount.
