Tad Lincoln's Father
Very nice short book of 88 pages by Julia Taft Bayne. She was only 16 during the first year the Lincoln's were in the White House. She offers a unique perspective of the Lincoln family. A very enjoyable book. Lot's of interesting little stories and details about the Lincoln's first year in the White House before Willie died.
It's free online at http://archive.org/details/ I bought a copy for $7 on the Springfield trip, and I'm glad I did. So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |
