Maryland Voices - Wonderful book about what it was like to experience the war in Maryland - particularly Baltimore and Southern Maryland - lots of first hand primary accounts -
I also did a re-read of Leech's Reveille in Washington - great book to get the feel of the war in DC - much of the history of the trial is taken from Perley Poore.... "The Past is a foreign country...they do things differently there" - L. P. Hartley |
