Springfield Tour

[Gene C]

We had a great time this year but got distracted from our original tour schedule as the Books on the Square has expanded their store (it's more than just books about Lincoln) and we spent most of our time searching through their inventory https://www.booksonthesquare.com/
and unexpectedly meeting and having lunch with a Lincoln Presenter, Randy Duncan.

Mr. Lincoln (Randy Duncan) was there for the Verdin Historical Society Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for the museum located at the Books On The Square

It was as close as you could ever get to being with Mr. Lincoln.  He interacted and mingled with the crowd, shook hands, and we were able to get some personal time talking with him while eating lunch at a picnic table.  He never broke character.  His personality and sense of humor was spot on to what you would imagine Lincoln was really like when not burdened with the responsibility of being president.

My wife viewed my purchases from Books on the Square, said Merry Christmas, and confiscated them until Christmas morning.  Just one of her unique ways of keeping the magic of marriage alive.  Fortunately I have a few other books to read until then.

We are planning another Springfield tour in May and we plan to visit more of the historical Lincoln sites.  Make your plans now to join us.
