I also was disappointed in the Quarter designs for many of the reasons described by Gene and Michael.

What about the Gettysburg Address Quarter with Lincoln on the obverse? (It's the same portrait used on 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial commemorative silver dollar celebrating his 200th birthday). The reverse bears the inscription "a new nation conceived in liberty", from President Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. The two hands grasping each other symbolize Lincoln’s efforts to keep the Nation together.
