Abraham Lincoln - African American ancestry?

I listened to the portion of the video that Steve alluded to. My interpretation of Ms. Fitzpatrick's comments of Lincoln's ancestry was the same. Very interesting. Would like to hear more from her on the topic of Lincoln ancestry and DNA findings.

You mentioned that Thomas Lincoln's mother Bathsheba is a bit of an unknown. Like you, I have seen the surname of Herring attached to her but I don't know much else.

Ms. Fitzpatrick sounded like she was attached to or consulted for the Abraham LincolnDNA project (Genetic Lincoln). That project, as I understand, was focused on the Hanks family. So if she was aware of DNA findings that indicated AL had some African American ancestry, I would conclude at this point (based only on those few comments in the video) it came through the Hanks line.

Steve, is your take the same on that?
