m afriad that Mary Surratt was guilty....of association with Booth conspiracy....
She was a confederate sympathizer
Her son John Surratt had been a spy who used information from War Dept clerk Louis J. Weichmann via the Surratt Post office in maryland to the Confederate Goverment
Her Boarding House was meeting place for Booth conspirators....of which their were two plots.....Booth plan to kidnap lincoln in a theather and then the killing of Lincoln ..the very day...of Lincoln death
She also delivered a package of Binnoculars to Lloyd Tavern in Surrattsville ..which had been given her by Weichmann
What really convicted her was the following:
*Llyod Claim that the guns used by Booth and Herald had been deleivered by Mrs Surratt...and his repeated claim that she referred to them twice as "Shooting Irons"
*She delivering the Binnoculars to Lloyd from Weichmann
*Arrivial of Lewis Paine at her borarding House....after he tried to kill Seward...and her inhability to recognize him because of her bad eyesite
*Hidden picture of John Wilkes Booth in her Borading house...which belonged to her daugther Anne
*LAsltly Andrew Johnson comment...that "She was the Bird that feathered the nest" of the consipirators...
