What a shame. That mural, which was right next door to the Lincoln Depot, was something I felt was really special.
I'm glad we were able to see it when we did. I always have looked foreword to seeing it. For those of you who missed it...

You never know when things like this happen. We didn't have a tour the past two years due to covid.
Things are always changing. Evidently Ann Rutledge's ghost is no longer at New Salem. The state of Illinois fired her for not having her covid shot.

You never know when statues will be removed, like the Stephen Douglas statue

Thank goodness the Cozy Dog Drive Inn, The Feed Store and Charlie Parkers Diner are still open, and our two favorite bookstores.

But, If you can't join us this time due to the short notice, you can join us next spring.
