RE: Springfield Tour
What a shame. That mural, which was right next door to the Lincoln Depot, was something I felt was really special.
I'm glad we were able to see it when we did. I always have looked foreword to seeing it. For those of you who missed it... https://www.illinoistimes.com/springfiel...d=11440385 I'm going to have to rework the schedule now. You never know when things like this happen. We didn't have a tour the past two years due to covid. Things are always changing. Evidently Ann Rutledge's ghost is no longer at New Salem. The state of Illinois fired her for not having her covid shot. You never know when statues will be removed, like the Stephen Douglas statue https://www.chicagotribune.com/midwest/c...story.html or our favorite restaurants - with all their memories - will close Thank goodness the Cozy Dog Drive Inn, The Feed Store and Charlie Parkers Diner are still open, and our two favorite bookstores. But, If you can't join us this time due to the short notice, you can join us next spring. Don't wait too long. They say "the more things change, the more they more they stay the same". Fido says "If they stay the same, then they didn't really change" So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |
