I have been mulling over your arguments about the Kane-Booth connection and am beginning to be persuaded that Booth did in fact know Kane from the theatre connection. As you point out there was a considerable difference in their ages. If as you say, Kane was a manager at the theater where Booth debuted, any interaction between them would have been memorable for the young Booth and completely forgotten by the elder Kane.
