I guess I am too obtuse to get this. As I understood it Mary Owen ditched Abe because he was "deficient in the little things that make for a woman's happiness." That says a lot about Mary Todd's experiences as Abe's wife, too? No wonder she was Herndon's "female wildcat of the age?"
