Status of Ford’s Theatre and Programming

Dear Friend,

We hope you and your loved ones are safe and finding ways to stay connected. Ford's Theatre and the National Park Service continue to evaluate our programming schedule and prioritize the health of our audience, artists, staff and volunteers.

Together, Ford’s Theatre Society and the National Park Service closed the historic site on March 14. Based on the current stay-at-home orders in our region, Ford’s Theatre Society and the National Park Service have extended the site closure through June 30, 2020.

The site (Museum, Theatre, Petersen House, Aftermath Exhibits) will remain closed through June 30.

We have suspended all public programming through June 30 (One Destiny, Investigation: Detective McDevitt, Guided Tours, in-person educational programming).

Our production of Guys and Dolls will be postponed until the spring of 2021 (a special thank you to Lead Sponsor: ConocoPhillips and Underwriters: Altria Group, General Motors Company and KPMG LLP).

We are asking our staff to work from home during this time.

If you have tickets to one or more of the canceled performances, we will contact you shortly via email concerning your options for the value of your ticket purchase.

We are eager for the day when we can welcome all of our visitors and patrons back to this national treasure. We invite you to connect with us online during our closure; we have continued to launch new digital programs and resources for at-home learners of all ages.
