Whom did Lincoln admire?

I think that Voltaire's philosophy would have been a bit too cynical for Lincoln.

Voltaire and Lincoln: Sounds like a good thesis for a degree.
As far as religious belief- I understand Voltaire was an atheist. Some contend Lincoln was also. This has been examined quite a bit on this Forum- as to whether or not Lincoln was an atheist, deist, or even a Christian (at least later in his life).
Both accorded human reason high on their personal values list.
