Lincoln visits Concord N.H.

Thanks for the comments Roger & David. It must have been a very impressive speech. One gentleman, a Night Watchman Edward Sturtevant was so taken in by Lincoln that he became the first man in Concord to answer the call for volunteers the next spring. He set up a recruiting tent outside the State House and was able to sign up Concord's quota in one day. Sturtevant ended up rising to the rank of Major in the 5th New Hampshire Regiment. He was killed at Fredericksburg.
