RE: The incivility of our times is not new-or is it?
I found this the other day on the internet. It was a letter to a journalist about an article on the decline of society. The letter writer wrote:
"Children seem to be no longer 'brought up' but allowed to straggle up in any way they can. They seem to be taught neither morals nor manners, neither square living nor right thinking, and in the last analysis it seems to me the blame rests with the mothers and fathers." To whom was this written? To Ida Tarbell. When was it written? In 1912. Best Rob Abraham Lincoln is the only man, dead or alive, with whom I could have spent five years without one hour of boredom. --Ida M. Tarbell
I want the respect of intelligent men, but I will choose for myself the intelligent. --Carl Sandburg
