RE: "Stump the Yankee"
Rebels 4
Yankee 2 Good afternoon and welcome back to another installment of "Stump the Yankee" I'd like to take a moment, if I may, to recap the events of the last round for any Lincoln Discussion Symposium members who may have missed it. THE REBELS GOT A BEATING!! O.K. - Now that I've got that out of my system - on to the question. Lincoln was a teetotaler his whole life. He avoided alcohol as he said it made him feel "flabby and undone". Except for an occasional glass of ale for an upset stomach, he never drank. On one occasion Lincoln and a friend toasted a special event in a way you'd never think of as a traditional way to toast something. What was the event and how did they toast it?
