With a little less than nine hours to go, I am frankly one of those who is happy to see 2018 go away! It has not been the most pleasant of years for me personally, but it has also created a great deal of turmoil for our country and our world. I do want to thank Roger and the members of this forum, however, who presented something very worthwhile to focus on. While we all have our thoughts, opinions, and interpretations of history, it takes reputable sites like this to keep history in the forefront and our brains in gear.

Happy 2019 to all -- and to Mr. G., please try to make a resolution to practice a quote from John Adams (although the gist of it predates his use by about 50 years):

"Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence."
